The Shadow Cabinet Music Group | Music Publishing

The Shadow Cabinet Music Group is a music publishing company that represents the three main songwriters for Grand Analog: Odario Williams, Alister Johnson and Warren Bray.

Odario Williams

RAPPER/SONGWRITER/PRODUCER/DJ/ACTOR/RADIO HOST

Odario is a storyteller, a hip-hop junkie and a lover of many musical soundscapes. He is embedded in the beat and submerged in the bass. His solo project expresses all of these qualities; tackling the many sides of "beat poetry". Odario's parents grew up in a small village in Guyana. Odario’s music reflects the raw heat of South American villages as well as the unique and intimate migration to the north. Odario is known for his work in Grand Analog (as songwriter and frontman). His distinctive voice and insightful lyrics have been part of the Grand Analog sound since their debut album, Calligraffiti, in 2007. As a performer and personality, Odario wears many hats and describes himself as a raconteur, an actor and a DJ. He currently hosts CBC Music’s Afterdark program. Music has always been the foundation. Storytelling has always been his passion. Following up his lush & funky solo album, Good Morning Hunter. Odario has released a series of singles including his current single, The Situation, which features dub legend Mad Professor (Massive Attack/Grace Jones). He has also been featured on a number of other artist’s tracks including the Halluci Nation single Ba Na Na with Haviah Mighty.

Alister Johnson

PRODUCER/SONGWRITER/REMIXER/DJ

Alister Johnson is a forward-thinking producer, songwriter, remixer, DJ and solo artist. He is obsessed with discovering and manipulating new and unfamiliar sounds. His diverse career has included production work and co-writing with Grand Analog and two-time Polaris Prize nominee Zaki Ibrahim, co-writing with Martha Johnson of Martha and the Muffins for her solo album, creating jazz cuts with Sacha Williamson and touring Europe with Azari & III. He is well known within the Toronto DJ community and has commanded the decks as far afield as Germany, the UK and South Africa.

Warren Bray

BASSIST/COMPOSER/PRODUCER/DJ/MUSIC SUPERVISOR

Warren Bray is a music supervisor, musician, composer, DJ and music encyclopedia. Born and raised in Scarborough Ontario, Warren has been playing music and reading album liner notes since he was a kid. As one of the founding members of Grand Analog, he’s co-written a number of songs for the Toronto-based band and played shows all over the world with them. Warren has over a decade of experience in the licensing world and has written music for commercials, film and TV. He also has a new soundtrack/prog rock band called Røisen whose debut record is being released in 2026.
